Me too! Almost every other day during the week and everyday during the weekend (when I am getting ready to go out). Whether it is a full choreography number or pretending to be Janet singing at an award show (busting out choreo during the dance breaks in the music)---I AM PRESENT....
As a dancer, it is something about those moments of dancing when you don't have to think about cleanliness, placement, pockets (not literal pockets for all of you not familiar with the term), technique, lines, etc. And as a human, it is something about that moment in the day and I can come home and dance in mirror and not care what anyone thinks --- and more importantly, I don't have to be "appropriate" if I don't want to be. *twerks in a circle*
We all have that rocky relationship with the mirror---like are we cool or nah? Sometimes, the mirror is like that brutally honest friend that gives unsolicited and voluntary advice that you just did not want to hear at the moment; but you still keep them close because YOU *clapping emoji* NEED *clapping emoji* THEM *clapping emoji*. But guess what? When you approach the mirror when its time to dance in it, you are taking the control and enjoying some time with your dear friend. Be sexy! Be silly! Be fierce! Be YOU! This is the time to DO THEE MOST. Even if you think you look completely ridiculous, I'm sure you'll get a good laugh out of it at the end of it, which is always a win for me. And when you're done, just know you've released SOMETHING (stress, energy, toxins, endorphins, and the list goes on); it's like lit meditation (even though meditation is already lit---but you get what I'm saying).
NO? You don't dance in the mirror?!?
Hmmmm. I swear I am not judging...BUT I just want to challenge you to try it! I am not sure if it is because I am a dancer that I feel like it is a necessity or what. But honestly, I truly believe it would be a good thing for a normal human being to do as well haha. Even if you think you are a terrible dancer, like who cares? Do it when no one is around! Start with a lil' two-step and sing along to the music and see where that takes you. If it doesn't work out, at least you tried it out....but the bias in me really doubts that it won't be fun for you. PLEASE TRY IT AND LET ME KNOW THE TEA ON HOW IT WENT. Please and thank you.
For both parties:
